Jillian's Little Free Food Pantry Network
Welcome to my page. I build little free food pantries and libraries and I chronicle it below as it is evergreen. If you need one built, please contact me below. I do this as girl scout projects. Girl scouts can do three projects, the bronze in elementary, the silver in middle school, and the gold in high school. I have completed my bronze award and will have my silver complete soon, too.
Here is a map of boxes in Wake County NC. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BEXunDK6f/
1. This site at Good Shepherd (125 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, NC 27603, ph 919 831-2000) feeds the unhoused in downtown Raleigh. When we restock it, we often talk to the unhoused community who use this pantry. Good Shepherd Episcopal recently did a fundraiser to support this pantry. This pantry is near a hot meal distribution site called Shepherd's Table. Also, they are looking to build a fountain down here as drinking water is a need. This was my 1st build and served as my girl scout Bronze award. The next ones will be my Girl Scout Silver Award. Thanks to Troop 1132 and my amazing troop leaders for all that they do. We are the mighty goats but we are energetic.
The downtown community asked for water in the summer heat waves. They also asked for individual drinks and mentioned that is a real treat. So, we brought some this time. Feminine products, toothbrushes, and canned stuff with flip tops are all requests. No one carries around a can opener. I never would have thought of that.
I build the free food pantries and encourage the communities to keep them filled. I am pictured here talking to the children of a Good Shepherd Episcopal church Sunday school class about the free food pantry at their church.
2. When food stamps or snap benefits stopped, we put this one up in NW Raleigh at 8920 Oneal Rd, Raleigh. As of early 2026, an estimated 1 in 5 children (14 million) in the United States lives with hunger. This site is near many schools. We shared its location with the school counselors and via social media. Here is a map of the movement across the US. https://mapping.littlefreepantry.org/
3. This site in Franklinton at Allen AME Metro Zion (210 W Green St, Franklinton, NC 27525, (919) 494-7336) feeds a more rural community. Feel free to use or refill any of them that you may pass.
